Paul J. Kaufmann Graduated from STA 1956
Education: Creighton Prep (Omaha) High School; Un of Nebraska, BA; Un of Cincinnati, MA; Iowa State Un, PhD
Career: Taught at University of NE (undergrad assistant); Missouri Valley, IA (English/Speech); University of Cincinnati (TA and evening college); Iowa State University (prof) 1967-2000. Glider flight instructor and FAA examiner
Family: Married to Linda Trudeau—a research scientist at IA State Kids—9 kids/step kids & 14 grandkids and another on the way
Favorite memory from STA (one of many): Getting out of class, right after lunch to dump the milk from the bottles before putting them in the carrier racks. Usually did it with a friend, and we got to visit. Sounds yucky, but it was fun. Find someone who remembers THAT.
Spare time: Retired in 2000, we travel, and go to grandkids’ games, birthdays, etc. I flight instruct and fly recreationally as well as write.
Advice: Listen, respect and accept people for who they are. Be curious, and challenge the rules when they don’t seem to make sense.
Other: I’m interested in seeing where others in my class ended up but I haven’t been able to contact them. I simply want to catch up with anyone who might remember me and see what’s up with them. Just kick around some memories to see where life took them.
