We are thrilled to announce the formation of our own STA Spirit Squad. We are recruiting any interested students grades 2-8 to participate in our first ever Spirit Squad. Grades 2-4 will participate in the Junior Squad while grades 5-8 will form our Senior Squad. No prior experience with cheer, dance or tumbling is needed, just a willingness to learn and cheer on our school teams.
We have a professional dance and gymnastics coach with many years’ experience to teach our squads and we have cheerleaders from Butler University to assist our squads as well. In our first year we anticipate that the students will learn a few chants and cheers and 2 dances. They will perform at the following events:
- Spirit squad will lead a cheer and chant to kick-off each STA Spirit Day this school year.
- The squads will perform at the STA Dance program in February
- The squads will perform at the STA Talent Show
- Cheer on STA sports teams
The squad will practice on Tuesdays in the gym from 3-4 p.m. We will NOT have practice on early dismissal days.
The fee for the Spirit Squad will be $125 per semester. This fee will include all instruction and choreography, cheer T-Shirt, poms, bows and a snack. The only additional fee will be for coordinating cheer shorts.
