Angela Smith Jones Graduated from STA 1981
Education: Bishop Chatard High School and Miami of Ohio. Law School completed at DePaul College of Law
Where do you live now: Indianapolis
What have you been up to since STA? I lived in Chicago where I attended law school at DePaul College of Law and enjoyed the culture, food and public transit. I then returned to Indy and after working with the State where I was the director over the Medical Board, Engineering and Plumbing Commission. Four years ago, I left life in the public sector and now lobby for the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce on issues important to business and our community.
Please tell us about your family. I am the mother of two lovely children: Crayton (11) and Katia (7), the daughter to Joe and Brenda Smith and the Big Sis to Joe Larry and Lauren.
What is your favorite STA memory? Kickball!! I loved playing on the kickball team. It developed me as a person and was soooo much fun traveling the city.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I love sports – attending events and being active myself. In addition, when I have spare time cooking, reading and knitting are at the top of list.
What words of advice would you offer a current STA student? Embrace the community in which you are blessed to live. STA is one BIG family and has multiple generations who will support you at every turn in your life, both the good and the bad. Appreciate that support and “lean-in” as you navigate this journey of life. It is a wonderful blessing.
Is there any other information you would like to share about yourself? As my life continues, one very important part is to continue to expose myself and my children to the many different cultures of our world. International travel is on my wish/bucket list. I would love to take at least one international trip each year.
