Dear Fellow Parishioners,
The Race & Culture Committee continues to work to provide ideas for how our community can directly respond to the sin of racism. We have developed an Anti-Racism Pledge to further this mission. It contains specific ideas that can be done, from offering prayers against racism to taking concrete actions that fight inequity. We ask each of you to read through the pledge, and examine your hearts on which actions resonate with you. Decide which actions to take, and then intertwine them into your life. (Ex. I will include a prayer of racial healing in my daily prayers, I will talk to leaders at work about increased African American representation on our boards, and I will make a donation to the Indianapolis Urban League at Christmas.) We are hopeful that this pledge will provide guidance in furthering the mission of “That They All May Be One” John 17:21.
