TEA & EMPATHY GATHERING: MAY 11th

Tea and Empathy will meet, as usual, on the second Monday of the month, May 11th, at the Parish Center (door 8) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Tea &   Empathy is an informal support group for anyone who has suffered any kind of loss at any time. Needed Items for Boulevard Place Food Pantry

St. Vincent de Paul Boulevard Place Food Pantry appreciates the time, talent, and treasure provided by members of St. Thomas Aquinas.  Your support helps us support our neighbors in need.  Please place any items in the cart in the Narthex.

Current needs include: 

  • Dish soap
  • Jelly/Jam
  • Mayonnaise
  • Canned tuna/meat
  • Canned salmon/sardines
  • BBQ sauce
  • Salad dressing
  • Breakfast items
  • Spaghetti/pasta sauce

Also, here’s an item you may have extras of, which would go a long way to helping our Boulevard Place Food Pantry clients!….

It’s those sturdy wide-mouth shopping sacks like you might find at Aldi or Marshalls. We use them for Wednesday drive-up service. These to-go totes take up less room in the Pantry than our cardboard boxes and we need all the space we can get to store food. A box is located in the school lobby or you can place them in the red wagon in the Narthex.

BAGS FOR THE BOULEVARD APRIL-MAY DRIVE

The current Saint Vincent de Paul “Bags for the Boulevard” giving drive theme is April Showers Bring May Flour-ers. Please consider donating pantry staples like flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cornmeal/cornstarch, cocoa    powder, yeast packets, vanilla extract, honey, spices, and cooking oil.  Just pick-up a bag from the Narthex or provide your own. The final collection date is Sunday, May 17, 2026.

HYGIENE SMALL SIZES FOR GFC MOBILE CLINIC VAN

Do you have a drawer full of sample size hotel/motel hygiene items to donate?  If so, please drop them off in STA’s Boulevard Place Food Pantry cart in a bag labeled “Gennesaret Free Clinics.” Volunteers at St. Vincent de Paul will sort them and take them to Gennesaret Free Clinics where they will be given to homeless and working poor clients. Dental items, shampoo, body lotion and soap are favorites.  Do a little spring house cleaning, and we will do the rest.

PASTORAL LETTER PRESENTS A “THEOLOGY OF CREATION”

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we also honor our mother Mary through whom God became human. In their pastoral letter “Integral Ecology: A Sacramental Vision”, the bishops of Indiana write “The same Lord Jesus whom we worship in the Eucharist is the same Lord Jesus through whom creation comes into being.”  They ask for people to cultivate a “serene attentiveness” to God, ourselves, our neighbors, and creation.
