WHAT IS THE NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS?

The National Eucharistic Congress (NEC) is from July 17 -21, 2024 in downtown Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.  This once-in-a-lifetime event is the culmination of a 3-year National Eucharistic Revival during which U.S. Catholics have been actively and prayerfully reorienting their lives around the Eucharist, the source and summit of the Catholic faith.   As such, the NEC offers an amazing range of speakers, worship opportunities, impact sessions, networking, and events for St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners along with all other U.S. Catholics.  This is an amazing opportunity both to grow in one’s faith and to better focus on the miracle of the Eucharist.  For more information about the NEC, please visit the National Eucharistic Congress’ website.

REGISTRATION AND PASSES: FULL CONFERENCE (DISCOUNTED), WEEKEND, OR DAY

Five-day, weekend, or day passes are available.  Because the Archdiocese of Indianapolis is the host of the event, St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners can receive a significant discount for the full 5-day pass.  The coupon code of Indy24, which is only available for full session passes, reduces the cost of a full session from $375 to $274.  Weekend passes are $125 and day passes range from $49-$95.  And, there is even free admission for kids 12 & younger.  Please visit the Registration page to register.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

If the cost of the NEC is too expensive, St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners can apply for a Solidarity Fund scholarship , which is a fundraising initiative led by the U.S. Catholic Bishops.   Both individual and group scholarships are available.

VOLUNTEERING

Pre-Event (July 14, 2024)

The National Eucharistic Congress (NEC) is in need of several hundred volunteers to provide setup support on Sunday, July 14 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Indiana Convention Center, Hall J. This will be an opportunity for volunteers to stuff bags which will be given to attendees at registration. Volunteers under the age of 18 are welcome but they must be accompanied by a parent or Safe Environment certified with a non-parental chaperone. This could be a good opportunity to earn service hours during the summer break.

A sign-up form has been created which can be found HERE.

During the Event (July 17-21, 2024)

Individuals throughout the Archdiocese are encouraged to assist in welcoming people from across the United States to Indianapolis through volunteering for the National Eucharistic Congress being held July 17-21, 2024. Pastors are asked to share the information below in their bulletins and external parish communication platforms.

Those who are interested in volunteering can indicate this interest here: https://www.eucharisticcongress.org/volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and willing to complete the Safe Parish training program through the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Positions are open to volunteer for the duration of the event, for shifts and for set-up and clean-up before and after the event. When you submit your name and contact information at the link above, you will receive detailed follow-up about the specifics of volunteering at this event.
