Boulevard Place Food Pantry wrapped up September having served 1,123 households— an all-time high, breaking the record …  that was set just a month ago, with 1,077 households served in August, pantry director Cindy Brown reports.

This is despite the fact that during the pandemic, our volunteer-run self-select grocery shifted from 8 in-person shopping time slots per week down to 3-per-week drive through. During the drive-thru, we have cars lined up along 42nd Street West waiting for pre-bagged to-go-food and fresh dairy and from-the-farm donated fresh produce.

The demand to provide nutritious food to clients is great, and that demand is only continuing to grow. That’s what our renovation/expansion — which reaches the 3-month-mark Oct. 7 (with the removal of another outside concrete block wall — is all about).

Being there to meet the need.
