Dear STA Families,

It has been quite a week for all of us!  We are happy to be back at STA.  Despite how the last two mornings may have been at your house, when the kids arrive here, they are clearly glad for school and are settling in the routine.  Due to STA being closed earlier in the week, there is no formal School Scoops on the website this week.  This email serves as our weekly update.

Snow Day Make-Up:  The IDOE has issued a weather waiver opportunity for Monday and Tuesday only.  The Office of Catholic Education has submitted the waiver application on behalf of all archdiocesan schools.  I anticipate receiving approval from IDOE.  However, we will have to make up Wednesday, so please plan accordingly.  STA will be in session on Monday, February 17th (Presidents’ Day).  If the waiver is expanded at a later date, I will notify you.

New Club:  STA will be offering a new type of Lego Club called ‘Bricks 4 Kidz‘ for students in K-6th grades.  Students were able to preview some of the activities during lunch yesterday and were provided a flier with details.  All Bricks 4 Kidz sessions introduce important STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts and allow kids to apply what they’ve learned — and have fun!  We have chosen Mission 2 Space as our first theme.  If your child is interested in a 6-week session on Wednesdays 3:15-4:15pm, you can sign-up through the STA website:

Pizza Friday is going Green!:  The second semester order form for Pizza Friday will be available online only with two payment options.  You can print out the order form at home and send it with a check to the school office, OR you can now order online and pay with a credit card (available Monday)!  Thank you to the Technology Committee for making this frequently requested service a reality. (Scroll down)

North Deanery Newsletter:  Please check out STA featured in the ND Newsletter, produced by our North Deanery high school, Bishop Chatard.

Reminders for next week:  Talent Show forms and fee are due Monday.  Tuesday is 1:00pm dismissal.

Have a great weekend!  (Is it the weekend already?!)
