ST THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOOL has partnered with Benefit as a free and easy fundraising solution!

Benefit is a free iPhone and Android app that allows you to shop at places like Target (2.5% / 0.5%), Starbucks (5% / 2.5%), Nordstrom (6% / 2%), Delta (5% / 4%), Airbnb (5% / 3%) and many more, while giving a % of every transaction back to STA. Just shop like you normally do. When it comes time to checkout, instead of pulling out your credit card, pull out the Benefit app and purchase a digital gift card that you redeem instantly.

For instance, if you are traveling and buy $500 worth of tickets at Delta, and $25 (5% draft from checking) goes back to STA. It doesn’t cost you a dime beyond what you were already going to spend. It’s raising funds without fundraising!

For more information go to Feel free to forward this email to family and friends. The more people who participate, the more funds we will raise.

Please note, there is a difference in benefit back to STA depending on payment method.  If you set up your gift card purchase using a back account, you receive the higher benefit.  If you use a credit card as your payment method, the % back to STA will be lower by 1-6% depending on merchant.

For STA families, the first $150* from each family raised will be directed to STA.  Money raised beyond that will apply to your SMART account as a credit.  Program runs annually from April 1 – March 31.  Additional funds to be applied to final SMART balance.

Once you set up an account, Benefit will verify by making 2 small deposits into your account within 2-3 days.  Once you see those deposits, go back to the app, click on PAYMENT METHOD, then select the account to validate and enter the amounts deposited.  You are ready to go!

If you have have questions OR other family or friends shopping on your behalf, please notify Sheila Brown ( and Brooke Smith ( so we can link those transactions to your family.

*For 2018-19, due to an earlier start date, the contribution total is subject to change.
