STA junior high students have continued to partner with our local chapter (and neighbor) of the Daughters of the American Revolution (“DAR”).  Again this year, our 7th and 8th graders entered an essay contest.  Essays were first person accounts of an immigrant entering America through Ellis Island circa 1892.  Multiple schools submitted essays.  Congratulations to our very own 8th grader Kacee Haslett and 7th grader Miranda Stickel for writing winning essays! These essays will now now be submitted for regional competition. A special thank you to Mary Pat McElhiney and the Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of DAR, for continuing to challenge and enrich our middle school social studies courses.
