CYO CHESS
Calling all chess players – all experience levels and grades welcome.
Is your child interested in participating in CYO chess this year?
The commitment is five Wednesday matches after school at 4:30 from October 10th to November 7th, with a Saturday tournament November 10th.
New this year – Kevin Hoy will be helping after school Wednesdays in September to prep for the short season. Not mandatory but suggested for the younger players. September 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 3:15 to 4:15 in the science lab. We’ll be looking for volunteers to help.
It is not required to participate in chess club during the school week with Aaron Dean, which is separate, but many of the players do or have in the past as it helps them build skills.
Teams will be formed in the following age groups: third and under, sixth and under and 8th and under. We’d love to have enough kids to have full teams (4) at each level.
Lori Herrera and Kevin Hoy will be assisting again this year with the kids for matches. If your child is interested in playing chess this year please email Anne Lammert at anned266@gmail.com by Friday September 7th.
