SEASON OF CREATION AT STA SCHOOL

The theme of this year’s Season of Creation at STA School is “All God’s Creatures”.  We began our celebration with a prayer service on September 3 with a focus on animals and will continue with faith partner activities, classroom door decorating, and other activities to remind us that each of God’s creatures is special and plays a part in creation.  We will close our celebration on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, with a pet blessing.  Students may bring $1 on October 4 and wear clothing with pictures of animals (no animal costumes).  The money raised will be donated to an organization that cares for animals.  Watch for more details later in the month.

CELEBRATING THE SEASON OF CREATION AT HOME

In his Season of Creation message, Pope Francis calls on us to protect creation.  He encourages us to re-acquaint ourselves with praying in nature and to grow in sustainability.  For ideas of actions your family can take, see the weekly guides from the ArchIndy Creation Care Commission or go to https://ourcommonhome.org/
